What is Embolization?

Embolization is a procedure that blocks blood flow in targeted blood vessels. By reducing the blood supply that drives symptoms, these procedures relieve pain, shrink tissue, or control bleeding without removing or resecting tissue surgically.

Knee Osteoarthritis

Genicular Artery Embolization (GAE)

A minimally invasive procedure that helps reduce knee pain for patients with osteoarthritis (OA) by decreasing abnormal blood flow to the joint lining. It is performed without incisions, general anesthesia, or an overnight stay.

Enlarged Prostate (BPH)

Prostate Artery Embolization (PAE)

A minimally invasive procedure that helps improve urinary symptoms caused by an enlarged prostate. This nonsurgical alternative does not affect sexual performance and is performed on an outpatient basis.

Uterine Fibroids

Uterine Artery Embolization (UAE)

A minimally invasive procedure that reduces the size of uterine fibroids and helps normalize heavy, intense menstrual periods, without the recovery time of surgery.
